Creamy Cucumber with Worst Ingredients

1 Shallot; finely chopped 1 ts Bouillon powder
1 Cucumber 1/4 ts Chili powder
25 g Butter or margarine 1 dl Evaporated milk
1 Clove garlic; minced 1 tb (deep-freeze or fresh) dill;
1 tb White wine vinegar 200 g Gekookte worst; in one piece
1 ts Sugar S&P; to taste

Instructions for Creamy Cucumber with Worst

["Gekookte worst" is what we get when we have a hankering for a good ol bologna sandwich. Its diameter is smaller than bologna, and the texture is a bit coarser, but the taste is similar. I think you could buy a chunk of good bologna to replace this.] Peel the cuke and cut in half lengthwise. Scoop out the seeds and slick about 1cm thick. Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in garlic, shallot, cucumber, vinegar, sugar, bouillon powder, and chili powder. Cover the pan and cook over low flame about 5 minutes, till cuke is soft. Stir in evaporated milk and dill. Cook, uncovered, another 2 minutes. Meanwhile, remove the skin from the worst and cut the worst in chunks (thick slices, cut in quarters). Stir into cucumber mixture and continue to heat another 2 minutes, till warmed through. Add S&P to taste. Lekker with boiled krielaardappeltjes [or noodles, rice, or mashed pots].
