Deep Dish Apple Cobbler Ingredients

5 lg Granny smith apples, 1 c Sugar
2 tb Sugar 2 tb Butter or margarine, melted
1/2 ts Ground cinnamon 1 ts Vanilla extract
1/4 ts Ground nutmeg 1 c All-purpose flour
2 ts Lemon juice 1 ts Baking powder
2 lg Eggs 1/4 ts Salt

Instructions for Deep Dish Apple Cobbler

Source: Southern Living Magazine 1/97 COMBINE first 5 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring to coat apple slices; pour into a lightly greased 8-inch square baking dish. BEAT eggs and sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended. Add butter and vanilla, beating until smooth. COMBINE flour, baking powder, and salt; fold into egg mixture. Spread over apple slices. BAKE at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
