Doogh Ingredients

1 c Thick whole milk yogurt 1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Chopped fresh mint -or- 1/4 ts Ground pepper
1 ds Dry mint flakes; crushed 1 1/2 c Club soda or springwater

Instructions for Doogh

I first ran accross this drink...well Im not sure either it was Ankara or on the Frugal Gourmet...dont matter none...its great. I knew it as ayah but found it in a Iranian cookbook as Doogh. 1. Pour yogurt, mint, salt and pepper into a pitcher. Stir well. 2. Add club soda or springwater gradually, stirring constantly. Add 3 or 4 ice cubes and mix again. 3. Serve chilled. I substitute plain yogurt store bought for the recipe called for and only use club soda. Its got a real nice bite to it, great on a hot day...if only we see one again. (ps flavored yogurt while not a MISTAKE arent as good) FIN@PANIX.COM (DAVID FINAN) REC.FOOD.RECIPES From rec.food.cooking archives.
