Suggest a better descriptionIn small bowl pour boiling water over 2 cups of bran cereal and let stand while mixing rest of ingredients. Add applesauce to mixture. Mix rest of bran with sugar, flour, salt, soda, cinnamon. Mix in egg beaters and buttermilk and mix well. If using, add bananas and then rest of bran mixture. Add raisins or nuts if desired at time of baking. Bake 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
