Ingredients

  • 1 lb Dried dates
  • Oats

Preparation

From: Mr Graham Kendall Date: Sat, 6 Jul 1996 09:12:58 -0700 Cook dates in a little water until you get a sticky consistency. Mash dates so that they are not all big lumps Stir in enough oats to get a "flapjack consistency" (the consistency is up to you. I prefer it quite sticky). Put mixture into a well greased tin. Cook for about 20-25 mins at about 180 Sometimes I put in a little margarine and maybe a spoonful of honey. I know it is not that low cal but its certainly lower than the ones that are full of syrup and glucose. I have also used many other fruits, mostly dried, including apricots, pears and prunes.
