French Onion Soup Ingredients
3 pounds Peeled
onion

Bay leaf
4 ounces Butter or
margarine
3 quarts Beef
stock
1 1/2 teaspoons Freshly
ground pepper
1 cup
White wine
2 tablespoons
Paprika
2 teaspoons
Salt
(optional)
Instructions for French Onion Soup
Slice onions 1/8 inch thick. Melt butter, place onions in it and cook slowly for 1 1/2 hours. Add Beef stock, white wine and paprika; simmer 2 hours. Salt to taste.
Refrigerate over night. Reheat and serve with croutons and Swiss Cheese.

I would have given this a five, but the directions appear to be mostly missing - when / how do you add the pepper, paprika etc.? I had to wing it and it came out OK.

Who doesn't like French Onion Soup? It's warm and delcious. Make this 24 hours ahead of time and pair with a simple tossed salad for an easy wintertime dinner.
