Pudding, Bread Ingredients

2 c Stale bread crumbs 1/4 c Melted butter
1 qt Scalded milk 1 Egg
1/3 c Sugar 1/2 ts Salt

Instructions for Pudding, Bread

Soak bread crumbs in milk, add sugar, butter, egg slightly beaten,and salt. Flavor to taste and bake in a moderate oven. Time in oven, 1 hour. Temp., 325 degrees. Servings, 6. VARIATIONS: Melt two squares of chocolate and add to scalded milk. Cararmelize three tablespoons of sugar; dissolve in hot water to make a syrup and add to the scalded milk. Add spice and raisins.
