Zesty cold bean salad that is great for picnics and parties.
A very hearty and warming soup my husband loved while stationed on the USS Independence. Since he was a Medic he was buddies with everyone and got the recipe from one of the cooks before he left. He held on to the recipe for years.
Perfectly seasoned for that summer barbeque or whenever you want to eat them! Very quick and easy to make!
This is a fantastic Mexican type one dish meal with the beef, refried beans, tortillas, and vegetables. You can make it to the degree of spicy you desire by the type of tomatos you use. So, go ahead....experiment. AND, OLE!!
When I was a cook in a restaurant years ago, this was our best-selling soup. One taste and your family will agree it's a winner! --- Mary Detweiler, West Farmington, Ohio
I learned from Julia Child that when it comes to cooking fresh green beans--the "French bean system" guarantees superior taste, texture, and color. This is my favorite method for preparing fresh green beans, especially for entertaining. Green beans prepared in this manner are fabulous, and I could easily make my dinner from a large plateful of them. They're also convenient--you can do everything except the finishing a couple of hours before you serve dinner, and they'll still be bright green and yummy when you finish them in time to accompany your main course. There's no loss of color, flavor or texture by cooking the beans in advance.
Excellent for summer parties. Easy and delicious. This recipe is based on a recipe from www.recipe-source.com.
This is the closest recipe I've found to the Restaurant-Style Mexican Boracho Bean Soup that I like so much. (Anita)
Bright colors and bright tastes. This salad appeals to the eyes AND the palate.
