Subject: BOPtool for WORD -- print cookbooks at home using WORD

I created BOPtool this winter because I wanted to print a cookbook, in several sections, with a table of contents.  I wanted it to make efficient use of paper and bookshelf space.  I wanted it in time for the Christmas Cooking season.  I knew that the next version of BigOven was a ways off, and Lakefront software had not yet announced professionally-printed BigOven cookbooks.
 
So I created a Big Oven Print tool for WORD.  BOPtool is a WORD template with a toolbar for formatting BigOven recipes.  Anyone can download it from the Recipe Printing Tools group at Google Groups.

With this template file in my template directory, I have 1-click buttons to:
  • Format recipes nicely.  All the recipe titles look the same
  • Choose between 1-column and 2-column ingredient sections
  • Choose to add page numbering and a page header (cookbook title)
  • Choose to add a cookbook title and table of contents
  • Choose whether to print on 8 1/2 x 11 pages or 4x6 cards
I can even drag photos from BigOven into WORD (I don't need BOPtool to do this, of course).
 
I was inspired to create BOPtool by Ray Price's YAMtool, which does something similar for MasterCook recipes.  I used YAMtool back when I used MasterCook.  I felt fortunate that Ray Price let everyone use YAMtool, and I decided I ought to do the same with BOPtool.
 
If you take a look at BOPtool, you can figure out how it works.  If you can improve it, please share your improvements at the Recipe Printing Tools group at Google Groups.

I tried to follow your instructions......searched and found the BOP tool where I had copied it. But when I went to try it - it said "this template is not valid". I believe I have the 2000 version of Word. Am I misunderstanding something - very likely because I'm rather a slow learner when it comes to computers.  Thanks for your help.
