Subject: Being Diabetic Doesn't Mean You Have to Sacrifice Taste

< previous topic  next topic >

Thanks to the many BigOven chefs out there who have posted diabetic-friendly recipes, it's clearly apparent that you don't have to sacrifice great taste to make something that fits your diet.  (Again, we here at BigOven caution everyone to consult your doctor and/or a licensed nutritionist before embarking on any diet regimen.)

I'd like to thank BigOven chef promfh, especially, for his tremendous recipes and food photos.

PLEASE NOTE:  The recipes that are part of this group (and those that are tagged "Diabetic" on BigOven) are that way simply because an existing user thought they might be of interest to those with diabetic considerations in their household diet.  They may, or may not be appropriate for those with diabetes.  Inclusion of recipes in this group DOES NOT MEAN that they have been reviewed by any nutritionist or physician.  Use at your own discretion, and always consult a physician or licensed nutritionist before embarking on any diet or nutrition program.

Since a large portion of the appeal of a dish is visual as well you can often use presentation techniques to make the ordinary into extraordinary. Just because a dish is diabetic friendly doesn't mean you shouldn't take care in preparing, plating and presenting it. Especially with kids or other picky eaters. Take a bit of time to make this look appealing and diabetic meals can be more fun.
