Subject: HOLIDAY PLANNING AND RECIPES

Yeah, I know, but the holidays ARE almost upon us.  Do you have a plan in place?  I know for me, Christmas and New Years will be a little difficult, because I'll be visiting my (very skinny) family, and won't be doing the cooking......   but I can still watch my portions, so that's my plan (that, and to stay away from the munchies that my grand kids are always inhaling).

Once again, I'd like to remind y'all about
Dotties Weight Loss Zone
Not only does Dottie have some wonderful recipes posted on her site, she's got full holiday menus to help us stay OP.

Even people who are not watching their weight, seem to love it.

So, let's get some recipes posted here so we can get our plans in place before we're in the midst of holiday panic.

And, let's always remember, it's the company, not the food that makes our holidays special.

I'll get us started with this one, which I had previously posted to Big Oven.  It's really delicious, and even people not trying to lose weight, seems to love it.

2 cups Nonfat vanilla yogurt 4 large Bananas sliced
1 can Pineapple chunks in juice; 20 ounces-drained 0.25 cup Flaked coconut
1 cups fresh 1 cup Miniature marshmallows
2 cans Mandarin Oranges 10 ounces each

Instructions
To make the yogurt cheese, place a cheesecloth-lined funnel over a jar, and pour the yogurt into the funnel. Place the jar in the refrigerator overnight. The creamy white mixture that remains in the funnel is yogurt cheese. (There should be 1 cup of cheese.) In a large bowl, combine the fruits and marshmallows, tossing to mix. Add the yogurt cheese to the fruit mixture, and toss to mix. Cover the salad and chill for 1 to 3 hours before serving. **Note, the yogurt cheese can be made by straining through a paper coffee filter if you don't have cheesecloth

At least my Thanksgiving is over with! Christmas/New Years will be hard. For me it will be mostly the alcohol. I rarely drink except when celebrating with others on the holidays. Alcohol seems to make me retain. I do have a habit of bringing along a six pack of diet coke with me to go in rum and coke. Wish I had the nerve to bring along my scales to weigh my food LOL.

That Festive Fruit Salad sounds yummy!

Another great site for recipes is Weight Watcher Recipes
I like the way I can see the decimal points before rounding on the Points Calculator tab.
