Subject: HOW TO START MARKET YOUR OWN BBQ SAUCE

How ? do I find  the right equipment  needed  to market a good product ! I want to start on a medium scale

(Sorry of this post is a bit pedantic, but I thought I'd offer some thoughts.)

First, I'd make sure you have thought very hard about what I think your biggest challenge may be distribution. Though I'm a software guy and have never run a specialty foods business, I occasionally meet folks who have started their own food businesses and they universally seem to find it very difficult to get the product placed in the channel.  The cold reality is that independent food producers have a very difficult time in the "get to market at scale" phase.  Major distributors have considerable power, and the biggest volume supermarkets often deal with very large distributors, who are hard to break into.

How will you get your killer sauce to market?  Will you sell it direct?  If so, how will you market it?  Or, do you have a few buyers (from distributors/retailers)? If you have some local shops that would carry your product, you can get a great set of market feedback there, and build out.  If I were starting a specialty foods company, I'd want to start out for several months in test-phase, measuring market demand and getting the channel/distribution strategy fully in place.

Once you've tackled that, I think the production-at-scale aspect is far more  straightforward, by comparison.
