Subject: freshwater shrimp

I see more and more often, freshwater shrimp offered at the seafood counter, and I would like to know what differences there are between fresh and salt water shrimp ( besides cost). If anyone can enlighten me I'd be grateful.

I LOVE any & all kinds of shrimp!!!

Freshwater shrimp are often called "prawns". From my personal experience, they are usually much bigger than saltwater shrimp, and the taste & texture are VERY similar. I would highly recommend taking advantage of the price difference.
