This delicious salad started out life as a salsa recipe from epicurious.com and has morphed into one of our favourite salads. We always have it with Grilled Cumin Chicken.
A terrific warming soup for the winter months. Inspired by an attempt to replicate the tomato-basil soup from Gordon Biersch, a San Francisco-based microbrewer with restaurants in CA and Seattle.
"This sauce came from a good friend's Italian Mother-in-law. It is easy, and by far the best homemade sauce I know of. Great for both Spaghetti and Lasagna. Pssst...the secret is the sugar!"
I discovered this quick and tasty recipe while working in a restaruant. After working very long hours the kitchen staff would whip this recipe up and serve it with warm tortilla chips and icy cold margaritas. It was a great way to bond with co-workers and put the long days work behind you.
I have made this recipe several times and it is very good and very close to what you get at the Olive Garden. I cooked it in the pressure cooker this time, but have also cooked it on top of the stove. It makes a LOT!
great for summer
A delicious, light summer salad. Serve with red wine and your favorite grilled fish or pasta salad.
We are getting so many tomatoes from the garden this year that we were forced to try canning some. This batch looks like it turned out good. Fresh tomatoes also freeze well. You can just wash them and place them in gallon freezer bags. They are excellent in soups and stews. This recipe is from the Kerr Home canning and freezing book.
