    Ingredient Insight -- very cool!

    I just saw the INGREDIENT INSIGHT (beta) on BigOven.COM and have to tell you that I love it. While it needs some tweaking (I think ingredients should open in a new window so you don't lose the recipe, and it tagged "Spices" for a recipe called "Apple Chestnut Soup with Spiced Cream" (http://www.bigoven.com/recipe161246)), it's a very nice feature.

    Thanks Vogel -- you've made some very thought-provoking feature suggestions in the past; coming from you this is a real complement. 

    What I really like about the brand new (beta) Ingredient Insight feature is that you can quickly scan the left hand column of the page, and almost taste the recipe itself, even if the end-product doesn't have a photo.  For instance, check out my Caesar Salad recipe -- http://www.bigoven.com/recipe157535 -- scroll down the left hand side and you can literally taste the sharp flavors in your mouth. 

    We realize the text-matching still has some tweaking to go, and it will be a rather long process getting it refined, but it will improve over time.  (Part of the reason is that we previously allowed recipes to get into the archive in a fairly unstructured way.)

    Other comments/suggestions on this feature are most welcome.

    PS:  We've just propped a test to have the photos & links open in a new window, as you suggest.  Any thoughts/feedback welcome.

    PPS:  Our experiment to have the Food Dictionary article open up in a new window showed us that this doesn't work too well from within the BigOven for Windows application -- creates some confusion about where you are -- so we've switched it back to stay within the same window.  Thanks for the suggestion, but we'll leave it in-place.

    More comments/suggestions welcome.

    No problem that it doesn't work well with "open in a new window"... I can live without it!
