BigOven's Unique Ingredient Insight™ Automatically Provides Visual Analysis of a Recipe's Ingredients
Since BigOven shipped in 2004, users have been able to easily participate in an online recipe swap by tagging their recipes and posting (or, conversely, importing) them to and from the online recipe swap with a single click of the mouse.
Now, when recipes are posted to the shared recipe archive, BigOven will automatically inspect the ingredients, and link that recipe's ingredients up to articles in the Food Glossary. Even better, on the recipe page itself, BigOven will show a photographic list of the key ingredients. The result is much easier and more natural discovery of new flavor combinations - you can scan the recipe text and almost taste the flavor combinations yourself! BigOven's Food Dictionary Provides Buying Tips, Storage Tips, Substitutions, History, and More BigOven has over 1,000 Food Glossay items, and more are being added every day. Articles include photos, buying tips, storage and usage tips, and a little bit of the history or lore surrounding the item. BigOven's LeftoverWizard Discovers Ways To Use Up Items In Your Fridge
BigOven's unique LeftoverWizard (http://www.bigoven.com/ingredientwizard.aspx) lets you enter up to 3 ingredients from your fridge/pantry, and it'll show you what you can make with it, sorted by overall community score.
"Try Soon" Queues Get You Unstuck
Ever browse a recipe website, getting great ideas, but then when 3pm rolled around you were still left wondering what to make tonight? BigOven's "Try Soon Queue" lets you build up a step-by-step list of recipes that you'd like to try in the near future. You can even have BigOven schedule e-mailings to you on a regular basis. Recipe pages display who is trying which recipe soon.
You can even suggest new recipes for your friend's Try Soon Queues, simply by clicking "Suggest to Friend". This will add the recipe, along with a quick (public) note, to the recipient's Try Soon Queue. Help your friends get unstuck!
