Q: I have launched BigOven and it is telling me that it cannot connect to the Internet. But other applications, like Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Firefox, etc. appear to connect just fine. What's wrong?
A: Check your firewall settings, and ensure that your firewall specifically grants the BigOven application the right to communicate to the Internet. In Windows Firewall, bring up Control Panel / Windows Firewall, and add BigOven to the list of allowed applications. In McAfee and Norton, this can be accomplished through their "Security Center" application that is installed on your PC. For other firewalls, consult your software's documentation for how to add specific applications to the allowed applications list.
