    Printing Problems

I am operating on windows 98 and when I print a recipe to the screen on either 4x6 or 3x5 card size I do not get any notes or special comments to print on the card, Why?  I get the instructions and the title and ingredients and source.  I imported a bunch of recipies from a word document and as I imported them I chose the title, ingredients, instructions, etc.

On another note with windows 98, I cannot print to paper.  When i click on the print icon and it shows a recipe to print, when I click on preview and print it does nothing.  What am I doing wrong?

    Re: Printing Problems

To save the most possible space on small print-formats, BigOven does not print supplementary notes in the card format, just the title, ingredients, instructions, tags, cuisine and primary ingredient.  You might want to use the Condensed 8 1/2 x 11" format instead if you'd like the notes.

On your second question, be sure you have Internet Explorer up to date -- BigOven relies upon IE for its web viewing and printing services.  You should be able to click Preview and Print (to see the preview) and then click the printer icon in the upper left of that window.

What is everyone's favorite way of printing a recipe?  I'm open to suggestions here!  Also, what is this about "themes"?  How does this govern how the printed recipe will look?

Seems like I've just touched the tip of the iceberg with this software!  And just when I think I got it all figured out!!!!!! Wink

    Thanks!

Recipe themes simply dictate the visual appearance of how recipes appear on your screen and in printouts.  They can be selected via Tools/Options.  You can choose from up to 7 different themes, and if you know a little HTML, you can customize your own.
