    Huh? [:^)] Why is there no Export Button?

    I belong to a women's group who share recipes. Some of us have new computers, some old ones, some none at all. For those who don't the recipes are printed and shared. We all have our own favourite recipe program like MealMaster and MasterCook which can import and export each others recipes. BigOven can't. Is there any future upgrade that will fix this or is it a policy of BigOven  not to export their recipes in another recipe program format.

    Hi Carolina,

    While BigOven can import MasterCook (MXP, MX2, and "Exported from MasterCook" text), MealMaster (MMF) and Cook'n (DBF), and "publish" in several ways:

    * To HTML

    * To BigOven.com

    * To the clipboard

    * Via email

    * To a Palm device

    * To a Windows Mobile Device

    We don't yet support exporting to MealMaster or MasterCook format via bulk file.  This is on the consideration list for a future major release.  (For swapping recipes on a newsgroup, we recommend simply highlighting the recipes in the results list and choosing "Copy Recipe Text" from the clipboard, then pasting them into the post.)

    While I realize this topic has been presented on more than one occasion, I'd like to put my "vote" in for added export functionality as well. A mass export in MMF format, at the very least, would be a huge improvement for BigOven. Obviously, more formats would be better, but MealMaster is practically an unofficial "standard" in other products.

    As a new customer, and having just dumped the product of a competitor, I must say that the lack of more export options is forcing me to have second thoughts about my BigOven purchase. Other than that, I love the software. As others have said in various public forums, it's as though "BigOven is holding your data hostage" - making it very difficult to ever change to a competing product.

    Please add more export options to help quiet the conspiracy crowd!

    I also would like the export function, as I am using other programs beside BigOven to do ther tasks such as food inventory, but I have no way of integrating the two.

    I can help you implement (for free) the export function and make many, many customers happy, it's really simple!

    Can you export a grocery list to Grocey gadget App on the iPgone? Grocey gadget shows that it can import shopping lists from Big Oven>>>

     Re: grocery gadget, that's technically not supported by us, but GG has some explanations as to how to save the BigOven shopping list (BGS) file to your PC and then import it into that app.  (We're working on further enhancements to the iPhone app with shopping list features.  While GG does work, it's not an officially supported solution at the moment.  Thanks!)
