    Publishing to mobile device

When I first tested this feature with one "test" recipe, it worked OK.  Now that I want to use it for real, it just keeps publishing that test recipe, not my current shopping list and recipes.  The list and recipes don't seem to make it to the sync area on my computer; it's not failing in the sync operation.  Help.

Hmm.  I'm assuming you're talking about the Windows Mobile version, not the Palm.

If it's not publishing correctly, please verify that the key called "MobileDir" in the Windows registry points to the "synchronizing" folder that ActiveSync uses to shuttle files from the PC to the Windows Mobile device.  (To find this key, run REGEDIT.EXE, and look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SDMVentures\BigOven, then look for "MobileDir").  This should point to the location on your PC that is used to copy files.  Then, verify that when you highlight recipes and click "Publish", that the files are being written to this folder.  From there, ActiveSync should carry those files over to your Windows Mobile device.

You're correct in your assumption... I am talking about Windows Mobile (2003, 2nd edition).

I checked the registry key, and it's OK.  However, when I click Publish, the files are not written to that location, only the recipe/list I first used to test.  I even tried deleting & re-creating the folder then re-pointing BigOven to the folder, and the same thing happened.

I did notice that BigOven makes these folders read-only, even when I've changed that and emtied the folders.

BigOven doesn't modify any folder attributes whatsoever during this (or any other) process... it simply doesn't mark folders read-only (or read/write, for that matter) -- no permissions are ever touched by the program itself; they are simple file-writes.  Are you sure you don't have some kind of overly-aggressive anti-virus program that is perhaps preventing writes to the folder?

Double-check that you have the "Windows Mobile" button pressed in on the Publish dialog, that you've highlighted the recipe(s) you'd like to publish, and that the folder does indeed allow writes to it.

OK, an ID-10-T error.  But something is changing the properties.

But, now I have another problem...

something about it couldn't find resources...

What is the specific error message?  Answers to the most common ones are in our FAQ section of this message board...

    I believe it was...

    Could not find resource assembly

...but am not sure.  It seems to be intermittent.  I hate that kind of problem.
