As many of you know, we've been collecting user-reported cooking times for a year or so now. (You report times when you Rate or Comment on a recipe.)
Now, the Median Reported Cooking Times are shown on the BigOven.com recipe archive, both from a web browser and from your Windows recipe software.
NOTE: The time shown is the MEDIAN time across all users who choose to report the time. (Zeroes are thrown out, and we take the median across all other users.) If you've entered a time in error, simply edit the comment or re-post the recipe.
TOTAL TIME: That's "start-to-finish" time, including all marinating, baking, oven time, etc.
ACTIVE TIME: The amount of time the recipe needs your direct attention and work.
Our data is only as good as YOU report. With 160,000+ recipes on BigOven.com, we simply don't have enough time to try them all!
