BigOven

I've tried a few times to search for a BigOven recipe by the ID number but it doesn't seem to work.

 Is it possible to do this? Try 161411 - not found.

Using the software, click the "Find" button on the toolbar and simply enter the id#.

On the website, you can also go there directly by prepending any recipe id with http://www.bigoven.com/recipe.  Using your example, it's:

http://www.bigoven.com/recipe161411

OK, thanks for the information on how to do it on the webpage, although a button or fill in box would be nicer. I looked everywhere for one.

But, I don't know about the program - have you actually tried searching for 161411 from the program? It comes up all zeroes in every category (not found).

The recipe is called "Summer Prawn Salad" so you can find it and verify that it is indeed 161411.

One other thing on that recipe is weird - the displayed page when I do a search from the BO program for the title above, brings up the recipe with "Dressing amounts" for 3/32 of a cup, but when downloaded it shows 1/8 cup. What gives? It looks weird.

OK, I found the problem. From the "Home" page on the Big Oven program, a recipe number search will not work! It only works from the "Find" button. It would be nice if you could add a recipe number search to the "Home Page" as well, please.

Yes, as we wrote in the post above, you need to click the "Find" button on the toolbar and enter the recipe id#.

As for including this in the search-as-you-type box, we have considered this in the past, but the tradeoff is that the home page's speedy "search as you type" feature would be slowed down significantly if we did so.
