    formatting

Is it possible to add blank lines, for example after "INSTRUCTIONS", so that the first instruction is not immediately following, but a line (or even two) later. Likewise, is it possible to add a blank line before the "RECIPE SOURCE", etc. Thanks~

Yes, if you know a little HTML, an unsupported feature of the product is that you can modify the templates in your My BigOven Recipes\Themes folder.  You'll find files there named recipetheme0.htm, recipetheme1.htm, etc.  Open up recipetheme0.htm in a text editor or HTML editor, and, for example, place a "<br/><br/>" after the Instructions line, and you'll get a blank line after the instructions.

    Re: formatting

Sorry, that's the reason we call this feature "unsupported".  We can help with recipe software issues, but this feature is for folks who know a little HTML -- we simply cannot make the economics work to do HTML training and/or customization and/or proofreading...  Hope you understand that these limits on our service aren't trying to be mean, they're simply trying to help us keep our ultimate end-user pricing as low as possible.

But briefly, to do what you'd like, make sure you're closed out of BigOven.  Then, you can run Notepad on your Windows PC, and open the recipetheme0.htm file -- it's just a text file.  You can look for the line "Instructions", and place another couple line breaks (this is a line break, in html:  <br/> ) after the word Instructions, then Save the file back to your PC.

Our admin/head chef IS very responsive.

And, for talking about these unsupported features, there's the Printing Recipes and Cookbooks group.  And theres Recipe Printing Tools at Google Groups for sharing files.  Anyone can put a recipe theme file there for anyone to share.  I've put my BOPtool for formatting BigOven recipes and cookbooks using Word.
