I have just signed up to your site and am thoroughly impressed. . . with one exception. I went to download your software when I realised that is is only available for PC!

I note that you went to the trouble of creating an app for the iPhone but do not offer your software for OSX. Are you planning on making your software for Mac's?

We plan on making the website more and more powerful -- BigOven.com already runs very well on Safari on a Macintosh.  No immediate plans for a Mac desktop solution, sorry.

I am running BigOven on my Macbook with Crossover software. It works perfectly :)  I have also run it with VMWare Fusion software and that works also.

I also have a macintosh will not convert to PC, hope to expect a Macintosh version soon...

I agree, a Mac version of this software would be a good thing to have.  In the past, Mac was only a small portion of the software market, but that has changed significantly over the last few years.  Please get a version for Mac that will run without having to use emulators. 

I am currently running bigoven on a Mac with a Fusion program, and it is challenging.  I have lost everything once, and recipe files I had input once.  Currently I am receiving a message telling me I have 11 more usages of bigoven before my trial expires??? Can anyone help me through this before I lose some 500 recipes I have input for my preschool menus.

BigOven for Windows is a Windows product, and running it on emulators on the Mac is not currently supported.  Some users have reported great success with the product on the Crossover software emulator, but we don't support that configuration; we'd simply have to charge much more for the product to do tech support on all the various emulators on the Macs and hardware configuration there.  Have you tried "Activate Instantly"?  Do you get any specific error message?

 I too have been running Big Oven (for about 5 months)on my PC which was getting old.  I too bought a MacBook which I love.  I agree with the others there are a lot of Mac users out there.  Please reconsider doing a Mac version.  I have spent so much time entering my favorite recipes and don't want to lose them.  Thanks,  Marge

I am also a Mac user, but the online version of Big Oven is starting to get fairly powerful, so I am beginning to think  software as a service with a subscription fee would be both more convenient for me and better for Big Oven.  I would be happy to pay a one time fee or potentially even an small annual fee if I could store my recipes online (privately) and better yet if I could share them with others (invited) online.  I frequently travel and cook from different locations so an online version that I can access from anywhere would be great.  But I need to have my private recipes segregated from my shared recipes segregated from the public published recipes.  The addition of the online shopping list really enhances the Big Oven website functionality, but I am wiling to pay  for something that more closely approximates the capacity of the windows desktop version

Thank you Craig for those thoughts.  We do plan on adding more and more of the features of the windows software to the website, including meal planning / calendaring, nutrition analysis, etc. 

Even though I just recently switched from a PC to Mac I decided to sign onto the site as I was very impressed.  I see you have an app for iPhone but none for Blackberry, which did surprise me.  Will you be helping us Blackberry users soon??
