I get a pop up box "just-in-time Debugging" every time
I open the program.  If I let it default to "set the currently selected
debugger as the default it picks "New instance of Microsoft Script Editor".
If I select YES I get a new pop up "Microsoft visual studio debugger" and
it gives me the options of BREAK, CONTINUE, HELP (ignore can not
be selected).  If I click continue I do it forever because it never
goes anyplace except right back to the same box.  If I select break
it breaks in to the program but I have no clue what to do with it.
When I hit BREAK it takes me to the line var _uff,_udh,_udt,_ubl=0,_udo="",
_uu,_ufns=0,_uns=0,_ur="-",_ufno=0,_ust=0,_ubd=document,_udl=_ubd.location,
_udlh="",_uwv="1.3";  which of course is totally meaningless to me.

When I get a pop up box "just-in-time Debugging" every time
I open the program and click NO about half a dozen times the program
eventually opens up and seems to work ok.  But I have to do this each
and every time I open the program.

What can I do to correct this problem?

This is related to some Google code that we use to help track the usage of our site.   (An update -- that hunch was wrong in the end!  The bug was actually due to a change in a stylesheet location; it's now resolved.  If you had script-debugging enabled, it may have looked scary to get all those debugging messages, but it was simply (albeit repeatedly) saying that the stylesheet could not be found.  Sorry for the inconvenience!)

For the time being, can you try disabling script debugging in Internet Explorer:

1)  Close BigOven and launch Internet Explorer

2)  Go to Tools/Options/Advanced

3)  Choose "Disable Script Debugging (IE) and Disable Script Debugging (Other)"

4)  Re-launch BigOven

We believe this is now resolved; you shouldn't get this message even if script debugging is turned on.  Can you verify that you are no longer seeing this?   Please let us know if so.  Thanks.

I have tried to install the 30-day free trial three times and get the "debugger" message mentioned previously. I made sure there was no else logged on,restarted the computer and disabled both of the "script debugger" options under advanced Internet tools.
I really am interested in trying the program but cannot get to the point where I can even type in a recipe. Any ideas?

 Hi Ann,

This error message will indeed disappear after you open Microsoft Internet Explorer and check the boxes "Disable script debugging" for both Internet Explorer and Other Programs in IE.  You may need to close IE and BigOven and re-launch.  

I am having the same problem and you instructions did not help.  Have you found any other fixes?

That's very strange -- can you email us (support@bigoven.com) a screenshot of what pecific error you are seeing?  We use IE for all browsing, and if you turn off the "Script Debugging" in Internet Explorer, you won't see this message after you restart.  (To take a screenshot, simply hold down the Alt key and press the "prtsc" key on your keyboard.  Then, open your email program and paste it into an email.)  Thanks!
