Can a user post a recipe and keep it private?

BigOven's website is a great idea.  However, if I understand the rules correctly, we cannot post any recipe from our computer that is copyrighted by someone else.  I wish there was a private feature.  Here is what I would like to do.

Enter a a recipe that is copyrighted in my PC copy of BigOven.  Use this version for menu planning and shopping list.  I'd then like to post it in "private" mode on to the website, so that I can see it anywhere I am via the web and on my iPhone.  However, no one else can see it since it is copyrighted.

Is this feature available or being considered?

This feature is not yet available but is under active consideration for an optional, low-cost annual-subscription membership.  Thanks!

Boy oh boy would I love that feature. Almost all the recipes that I have in big oven are culled from favorite cookbooks which means, by definition, I can't post them. I just went on vacation, with access to internet but not my home computer, and was tearing my hair out that I couldn't get at my recipes. I would gladly pay a premium fee for the ability to post private recipes/menus online, and maybe get rid of some ads. ;)

BTW the new website is lovely.

Thanks Shelley.  We hear you and think that's a great feature. Thanks much for the comments on the new site.  It's been a lot of work!

I definitely agree. I'm a new user of Big Oven, and I'm writing a review about it for my website (http://Foods.TheFunTimesGuide.com).

One of the biggest things that's important to me is being able to access my personal & private recipes online without them having to be made public.

I absolutely LOVE Big Oven, but that's a HUGE downside to me. Hope to see that as a priority fix soon :o)

    Thanks.

Any updates on this yet? Until recipes can be kept private I can't really use this website :(
