BigOven

haven't seen this one yet on the forum - click on recipe in Rbox, hit delete key, screen on right returns to welcome screen & recipe is still in Rbox.

Attempt 2: right-click on recipe, click "delete", same thing happens.

 would really like to be able to get rid of the recipes I won't be trying.

Hmm, is it limited to delete?  Are you able to create new recipes and have them persist from session to session? Does this happen no matter the recipe in any given recipe box you try?

It sure sounds like (Part I and II for you) that your recipe box and/or folder might be in a location without full Read/Write privileges.  Exit out of BigOven and go check your My BigOven Recipes folder and make sure the user called "Everyone" has full control (read/write/execute) for the My BigOven Recipes folder and all its subfolders.  The way you do this varies slightly depending upon your operating system version, but generally it's done by right-clicking on the folder from Windows Explorer and going to the Security tab.  (If this isn't the issue, double check that you don't have an apostrophe or special character in the full file path that gets you to the recipe box.)

Had changed the directory location for My Big Oven Recipes folder from shared to My Documents. BO didn't like the change.  Uninstalled & re-installed, allowing folder to go in default location.  All is well now.
