You aren't limited in the shopping list to known ingredients!

We occasionally get an email inquiry on this topic, so we thought we'd post this as a tip:

You aren't limited to the pre-defined "BigOven Ingredients" in the shopping list. You can add any arbitrary item to your shopping list -- even items that aren't "groceries" at all!

BigOven will try to help you out by completing the ingredient name, but if you want to add any arbitrary item to your shopping list (e.g., gift wrap paper, scotch tape, scissors, glue, toothpaste... whatever!), simply keep typing, and press "Add".

You can then edit the department (aisle) it goes in by clicking in the appropriate column in the shopping list.

Tools/Options/Ingredients will also allow you to edit the list of available ingredients that BigOven knows about; this is where the "QuickFill" list comes from.
