Importing meal plans/calendar of recipes

As far as I can tell there is no option to import or upload a meal plan. It would be nice to create a meal plan and share it with others. I've been searching for a meal plan for hypoglycemics/diabetics that would enable you to adjust the quantities, etc. Being able to import such a plan would be a great help to many people who don't have the time or resources to create their own diet.

Shopping list feature request - include recipe name

Hi, I'm a relatively new BigOven user having used Mastercook for years (gave up when I couldn't get the latest version to work on Windows XP despite their "support"!). One really useful feature of Mastercook was printing the recipe name(s) beside each ingredient on the shopping list. This meant that if I took my menu plan with me, I could check fresh ingredient expiry dates against when I expected to use them and didn't end up buying stuff that had to be thrown out before it could be used. Would be fantastic if this could be included as a future enhancement.

Feature Request: Save Meal Plan

I've recently switched over from a very old version of Master Cook. One thing I miss about the Master cook is the ability to save meal plans (unless I've missed that somehow). I like to make several weeks of meal plans and reuse them. It would be nice if I could just save them and bring them up when needed instead of redoing it for specific dates. It would also be nice if I could manually put in the nutrition information on items not currently on the list (which is currently quite limited.) There should be more ingredients in the list that don't need manually entered. Even things as simple as fettucine and other pasta names aren't in there, I have to link to macaroni. Also, the units are a bit cumbersome. There should be standard can sizes. I have to admit that as nice as this program is, the features on my ancient Master Cook 2.0 served me better. It just won't work on Vista! I have hopes that you will continue to improve BigOven!

[FR] MENUs in the BigOven client

It would be awesome if I could, within the BigOven client, select a recipe or a group of recipes (marked recipes, for example) and save them to a MENU. This menu would also have generous space for notes (like timing, wine pairings, reflections on the success, etc). The existnig MENUs would be accessible from the left-side pane under VIEWS. The MENU itself could have SCALING functionality... So, for example, if I have 6 recipes in my MENU I could apply scaling to the MENU (as opposed to the individual recipes) and it would apply that scaling to all the recipes in the MENU.

Once a menu is created, it could be dragged-and-dropped onto the calendar, the shopping list, printing, and anywhere else, just like a single recipe. These menus could optionally be uploaded to BigOven as a public menu.

I would use this function because I create menus for dinner parties and would like to have a single source for storing the menus, wine suggestions, and thoughts, and BigOven is the ideal place for that. The more I think about this idea, the more I like it! I hope you'll consider it for inclusion in the upcoming version.
