Why can't we add videos we like on BiGOven to our page like we can the photos and recipies...you know like adding them to our favorites list?

iPhone App Now Available in the iTunes App Store

We're pleased to announce that the BigOven Recipe iPhone application (currently free to download!) is now available in the iTunes App Store.

With this application, you get access to the full recipe archive and Food Glossary from your iPhone. You have easy access to your Favorites and Try Soon list. (I've already used it several times in the grocery store, to recall what ingredients go in certain recipes... it's a real time saver!)

To get it, either:

1) Install it via the iTunes Online Store Link, and then sync, or

2) Grab your iPhone, launch the App Store, click "Search" at the bottom, and look for "BigOven". Tap install, and you're all set!

The new video uploads are great it would also be convenient to be able to upload a video

directly to a recipe within Big Oven as one does with an image.

We're pleased to announce that this evening, we moved into the second phase of our Cooking Videos beta.

With this phase, you can now watch, tag, and comment on Videos on BigOven.com, as well as submit your own. To see some fun cooking videos, simply visit www.bigoven.com and click the "Videos" item on the main menu. We've tested it under IE and Firefox and video streaming appears to be working properly (including full-screen mode), but please drop us a line if you are encountering playback problems on your machine.

Get your video camera out and make your own favorite dish! We'd love to get plenty of great cooking videos up there. Especially now that the holiday season is approaching.

Lights, Camera, Action! Become a Cooking Star -- Submit Your Cooking Videos!

Have you ever wanted to star in your own cooking tv show? Maybe you've got what it takes to be the next Giada DeLaurentiis, or Rachel Ray, Mario Batali or Bobby Flay!

Now in beta: BigOven.com is now accepting your cooking and food videos!

Submit your cooking video [beta] -- feel free to submit an entire series if you've got it.

Here are some ideas for videos you could create and submit: Make your favorite recipe, and share it with the world! Or, perhaps you have a quick tip or two to share. Or a special technique you want to illustrate, like the right way to carve a turkey.

Once reviewed and approved by an editor, we'll host them on the web for free! BigOven.com accepts videos about food and cooking in Flash Video (.FLV), Quicktime (.MOV) and Microsoft Video (.AVI) formats. As with photo submissions, we reserve the right to approve/reject based on suitability of content and overall quality.

Please note that this is an early release of the video upload process only, and it truly is a beta to help us test out the submissions process. To watch the videos, you'll have to wait a few more weeks; it's still in development and should roll out over the coming month.
