Quantity - How do you enter them?

I was having a problem with resizing and was wondering if I was entering information incorrectly. Have checked your FAQs but found nothing. I can easily enter a quantity as 1/2 i.e. 1/2 pound raisins But how do you enter one and a half pounds of raisins? 1 1/2? 11/2? or 1.5? Sometimes, none of them seem...
