Corn Syrup

Dark corn syrup has coloring and caramel flavoring added, while light corn syrup is clarified. Corn syrup is used in foods to soften texture, add volume, enhance flavor, and prevent crystallization of sugar.

 

Substitutes: 

1/2 cup sugar %20 2 tbsp water = 1/2 cup light corn syrup

1/2 cup honey = 1/2 cup light corn syrup
