Original recipe makes 10
egg noodles; Cooked
1 tsSalt
1/2 tsDried basil
1/2 tsPepper
1 WholeOnion; studded with 2 whole cloves
1 4-lbRump roast; (up to 5 lb)
2 tbCooking oil
1 tbDried parsley flakes
1 15-oz canTomato puree
1/2 tsBeef bouillon granules
2 clGarlic; minced
2 Carrots; sliced
1/2 cWater; or red wine

Italian Pot Roast Preparation

Rub roast with salt. In a dutch oven, brown roast in oil. Add all remaining ingredients except noodles. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, about 2-3 hours or until meat is tender.
