Original recipe makes 1
1/2 lgOnion; chopped
2 cKetchup
2 tsLiquid barbecue smoke
4 Garlic; chopped
1/3 cVinegar
Bourbon; or whisky; to taste
1/4 cTomato paste
1/4 cWorcestershire Sauce
1/2 cBrown Sugar; packed
1/2 tsPepper
1/2 tbSalt
3/4 cMolasses
1/2 tsTabasco sauce; to taste

Jack Daniels Barbecue Sauce Preparation

Combine onion, garlic and burbon in a 3 qt saucepan. Saute until onion and garlic are translucent, about 10 min. Flame if possible. Add all remaining ingredients, bring to boil, then turn down mixture to a medium simmer. Simmer for 20 min. stirring constantly. Run through strainer if you want a smooth sauce. Makes 4 cups.
