Cuisine: American   Main Ingredient: Lentils

I didn't have a red potato so substitued a sweet potato. I have done this before in similar soups to good effect. It also adds some nice color.

I used turkey broth as I have a great deal of that left from the broth I made from the Thanksgiving turkey. Again I don't think it makes much difference from chicken broth.

A very satisfying hearty soup.

It was very good. I substituted fat free chicken broth and left out the potatoes and added more 1/2lb more sausage. Used same cook time.

I loved this recipe. Fast and easy to make. I was skeptical of the sausage, but it gave great flavor. I substitute Leek for the onion.....it gave great flavor and milder tone than onion. I also left out the potato to make it low carb

Excellent dish! I love thick soups that are really filling, and this soup fits the bill. I wasn't sure about the greens part of it at first, but it tastes good and adds more nutrition... double win.
