6 cWater
2 cRed onion; chopped
1 tbGinger
1/4 tsBlack pepper
Salt; to taste
2 cSplit lentils
2 cOil; or butter
4 green peppers; Hot
1 tsGarlic

Misir Wat - Ethiopian Lentil Stew Preparation

Wash lentils and boil for 5 minutes. Cook onions adding oil and stirring gently so onions do not turn brown. Remove lentils from the heat, drain and reserve water for latter use. Add lentils to the onions. Add reserved water, stirring to prevent mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Add spices and salt to taste. Simmer for another 20 minutes. This recipe will serve 6. NOTES : The amount of butter/oil seems awfully high. None of the links connected with the recipe are valid, so verification will be difficult...
