2 tbGinger; ground
1 tsCinnamon; ground
Shortening
2 cAll-purpose white flour
1/2 tsSalt
1 lgEgg
1/4 cLight molasses
1 cSugar
3/4 cCrisco, vegetable
2 tsBaking soda

Moms Ginger Snaps Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cream together the Crisco and sugar, add egg and molasses. Sift together remaining ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Combine well. Form the dough into balls (about the size of walnuts) and roll in additional granulated sugar. Place balls on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake about 8-10 minutes until cookies appear flattened, crackled and lightly browned. Enjoy!
