"Great recipe! I've been getting flat cookies with the regular Toll House recipe on the back of the chocolate chip package, but these came out great. I am making them for a friend. I'm doing teaspon-sized drops onto the cookie sheet, so this recipe is going to make about a billion cookies.

The shortening does make the cookies thicker and softer. I've made these more times than I can count.

I followed the recipe exactly and when I set it to bake a few minutes later, I didn't have cookie shapes..I had a thin layer of cookie paper. Other than having to make the batter twice it still tasted amazing. Def the real deal.

Great cookies, these are just like ones that our mom's made back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. That is the quote that my children use whenever they talk about something that is older than there ipods, playstations and cell phones.

The cookies turned out nice but they never stay soft like the original Nestle Tollhouse cookies.
