1/4 tsSalt
2 MedPotato; diced
1 cWater
1 SmOnion

Old-Fashioned String Beans and Bacon Preparation

Can use fresh string beans, substituting equivalent amount for the canned. Cut potatoes into 1/2 inch dice. Brown the bacon and combine with the other ingredients and cook about 30 minutes until potatoes are soft. Source: Pennsylvania Dutch Cook Book - Fine Old Recipes, Culinary Arts Press, 1936.
