Beef Pizza Subs
| 3/4 cPizza sauce; or tomato pasta |
| 4 8-inchCrusty rolls |
| 1 tbolive oil |
| 2 cMushrooms; sliced |
| 1 mdOnion; cut into thin wedges |
| 1 tsDried basil; or oregano |
| 1 1/2 cflank beef; Thinly sliced cooked |
| 1 Green bell pepper; cut into |
| 6 ozmild provolone; Thinly sliced |
| Salt and pepper |
| 1/4 tsRed pepper flakes |
| 1 lgGarlic; minced |
Beef Pizza Subs Preparation
In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms, green pepper, onion, garlic, basil and red pepper flakes; cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until softened. Stir in beef and pizza sauce; cook until heated through. Remove from heat; season with salt and pepper to taste. Cut rolls along 1 side and open; layer with cheese slices. Place on baking sheet under preheated broiler for 1 minute or until cheese melts. Watch carefully. Spoon beef mixture into rolls.
