Beef Pizza Subs
|3/4 cPizza sauce; or tomato pasta|
|4 8-inchCrusty rolls|
|1 tbolive oil|
|2 cMushrooms; sliced|
|1 mdOnion; cut into thin wedges|
|1 tsDried basil; or oregano|
|1 1/2 cflank beef; Thinly sliced cooked|
|1 Green bell pepper; cut into|
|6 ozmild provolone; Thinly sliced|
|Salt and pepper|
|1/4 tsRed pepper flakes|
|1 lgGarlic; minced|
Beef Pizza Subs Preparation
In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms, green pepper, onion, garlic, basil and red pepper flakes; cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until softened. Stir in beef and pizza sauce; cook until heated through. Remove from heat; season with salt and pepper to taste. Cut rolls along 1 side and open; layer with cheese slices. Place on baking sheet under preheated broiler for 1 minute or until cheese melts. Watch carefully. Spoon beef mixture into rolls.
