Recipe by: Freshlike Products Preparation Time: 0:05 Cook broccoli according to pkg directions, but omit salt and add onion. In a large saucepan over medium high heat, melt butter, cook 1 minute. Add the 2 tbsp flour, whisk 1 min. Slowly whisk in milk and salt until smooth and boiling. Add broccoli and grated cheese, continue to whisk. Bring to a boil. Healthymommy 3 weeks agoGood start. The cayenne helped a bit but didn't taste right for this dish. So...I used whole wheat flour, added shallots, a sprig of fresh rosemary and sage and ended up liking it a lot more. Thanks for the recipe!
brittanyedlynlivingston 6 months agoI just made this with brocolettes , it was amazing! I used whole wheat flour instead of all purpose because that's what I had in the pantry. It was rich and tasty! Used lots of pepper :)

Msaibu 1 year agoIt was delicious and did not take me that long to make. I used rice brown flour instead of all purpose flour but it still came out great. It can get very thick so I added a little bit more water.

Cinnamongym 2 years agoQuick and easy to make. Not overly flavorful, but still it still makes a great light lunch. I like my broccoli soup without big chunks so i put it in the blender after cooking.
Grannybird 2 years agoMaking it now. What exactly is "1 frozen broccoli" in measurement terms? I have a large frozen bag & added half, if not more. I guess a little extra broccoli never hurt anyone...

Bfizzle 4 years agoGreat recipe and really does take 5 minutes to make! I like thinner consistency for this soup so I gave it a few pulses in the blender and returned it to the pot to heat through. A family favorite! Thanks for the recipe!
PondACB 4 years agoI used fresh broccoli and liquidised the end result as prefer it that way! Overall easy and quick but not 5 mins!
