4 cOkra; sliced thin
2 Garlic; chopped
2 lbFresh shrimp
1 tsSeafood seasoning; (optional)
1 slham; (thin)
1 8-oz cantomato sauce
1/2 tsCayenne pepper
2 cOnions; chopped
1/2 tsPepper
1 tsSalt
3 tsChopped parsley
Rice; cooked
4 cWater

Okra-Shrimp Gumbo Preparation

Cut ham into small pieces. saute lightly in a skillet. Add okra, and brown lightly, stirring constantly. Add onions, garlic, parsley, and tomato sauce, and let simmer for a few minutes. Add shrimp, water, seafood seasoning, red pepper, salt, and pepper. Let cook for 1 hour over very slow heat. Serve over cooked rice. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
