"This is certainly a most delicious and very moist banana cake. I coated it with a mild lemon icing. When next I make it however, I will use a 5 by 9 inch pan as 9 by 9 gave no depth to my cake, and hence 45 - 50 minutes cooking fan forced was too long." - Malcolmskitchen

Moist Banana Cake Preparation

One of the moistest banana cakes we`ve ever eaten...I don`t remember where the recipe is from, I`ve been making it for so many years. If you so desire, you may add a few mini chocolate chips to the batter. Preheat oven to 350`. Beat butter, sugar, eggs, & vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in sour cream. Add to mixture & beat well. Add bananas and dry ingredients. Mix just until blended. Bake in a sprayed 9x9 pan at 350`for 45-50 minutes. Have a cup of coffee & enjoy this cake!! Made 3 recipes last week for my son's potluck party, it was a hit, cake was supet moist . I decrease the sugar to 1 cup per recipe if using super ripe bananas. I'm plsnning to bake again this weeknd.

It didn't cook all the way through with time posted. I cooked it a little bit longer on lower temp so it didn't keep browning. I also didnt have sour cream so i dissolved the baking soda in greek vanilla flavored yogurt. Will make it again

Great recipe! I made it in a loaf pan and it turned out great!! A little dark around the edges but I like that little bit of crunch!!

This would be simplest and most successful banana cake that I have made. Deliciously moist - and tastes great with a thin layer of chocolate icing!

Delicious. I actually doubled and made in two 9 inch rounds. I frosted with home made cream cheese frosting. Cook time like 38-40 min. I sprinkled the edges with some mini chocolate chips. Absolutely wonderful.
