Teriyaki Chicken

Great basic Chicken Teriyaki recipe. Why use the bottled stuff when the make-it-yourself marinade is easy and so much tastier?

"Steve, I don't think you have a bad recipe in your entire repertoire. This is sooooooo good. I, like a previous poster didn't have quite 3 hours, so I cubed the chicken and did a shorter marinate time in my foodsaver (which marinates in about 20 minutes, although I gave it at least an hour and a half. Since I don't like much ginger, I added just a touch of ground ginger, and two large minced cloves of garlic. Delish.
I served it on skewers with some brown rice, and grilled/roasted onion and pineapple" - AnnieBananie

The marinade is the same -- simply add butter, saute the mushrooms to brown, add the sauce, and pair with snow peas! - stevemur stevemur

Its a simple recipe with just a great taste. The chicken was done perfect and everyone liked it a lot. I think next time I will add some pepper to add the little something to make it taste even better.

Tasty and quick - the perfect weeknight supper. I substituted white wine for the sherry, and it still tasted great....

I can't fault this recipe! I have made it many, many times now, and if I'm going to a barbecue I always bring a huge bowl of Teriyaki marinated chicken, and I get rave reviews from everyone. I usually use sherry, but I ran out and substituted brandy, and it was just as good.

Was yummy even a fussy 12 year old munched it all up, marinated then popped on in the oven covered in foil for 15 mins then on the old George Forman to give it that nice chargrilled taste and look, very moist
