Steve's Turkey Burgers

Recipes »  Main Dish  »  Burgers

These turkey burgers come out juicy, thanks to the added oil and onions. Turkey is a delicious, slightly healthier choice for the grill.

"These are amazing. I used ground chicken instead of turkey. Everyone that has tried these has asked where I found the recipe and they rave about them. Absolutely delicious. I kept a couple in the freezer and grilled them 2 weeks later and they were just as good.   " - BillyBaroo

Steve's Turkey Burgers Preparation

Use your hands to mix burger ingredients together lightly. DO NOT OVERMIX.

Using a tupperware lid, shape burgers into patties, no more than 3/4 inches thick. Place in freezer for at least 40 minutes; this helps keep the burger together during cooking.

Preheat grill to medium hot heat. Oil grill and place chilled burgers on it. They cook quickly, so turn after 3-4 minutes. Cook on each side for a total of 4 minutes. Place cheese on burgers, cover grill to melt. Serve with traditional burger toppings.

Drizzle some olive oil (careful of flames!) on the burger 1 minute before serving.

Notes

A slightly healthier choice for the grill. Excellent flavor.

I used extra lean piedmont beef so I wanted a moist, flavorful recipe. This is excellent.

Phenomenal juicy texture and flavor. Hard to believe this was turkey! I added a tablespoon of smoked paprika (pimenton) and omitted the breadcrumbs. Baked at 450 for 25 minutes as burgers. Thank you, Steve, for sharing this recipe. Bravo!

I used egg beaters and onion flavored Ms. Dash for substitutes. It tasted great.

I cut down on the salt and onion, but the burgers are great

Great flavor! I used a large egg and it definitely makes a difference. They were a bit too mushy...meatloaf like. Stick with the medium egg. I will definitely be making these again!

My sister introduced me to these burgers. I was skeptical at first, but after the first bite I waa hooked. They are delicious, healthy, and very easy to make. Try 'em and you will love 'em.

Great turkey burger! Much better than a turkey burger should be. I used ground turkey thigh (whole foods), so it was juicy and delicious. Also went great phenomenal with avocados. Highly recommend.

Was looking for something to do with minced turkey. Tried this recipe mostly because I already had all the ingredients in. It went down a treat with my hubby and myself. We absolutely loved it. I will definitely make this again.

Nice flavor. Made it with grilled peppers and carmelized onions on top and it was great

These are so moist and flavorful. I made my own breadcrumbs and I used olive oil instead of vegetable oil. There was enough onion in the burger, so I avoided putting more on the burgers. Topped mine with tomato, romaine lettuce leaf, and avocado.
