these are made with wonton wrappers and will save you the trip to a specialty store if you do not have one nearby

"Very very tasty recipe. Unlike several other reviewers, I did use the chesnuts & they were still good, although I wouldnt mind trying it without them. Also, a little suggestion: Add about 2 teaspoons of soy sauce. It'll make them a little saltier. Andalso, this recipe yields a LOT of rangoons s o becareful" - chefnuevav

1 packagewonton wrappers
1 16-oz packagecream cheese
1 Cancrab meat
1 Canwater chestnuts
1 bunchGreen onions

Crab Rangoon Preparation

Let creame cheese sit to room temerature, then mix with drained crab meat. Chop up drained water chestnuts and green onions, add to mixture. Beat until smooth. Using a small spoon, put enough of the crab mixture into a wonton wrapper that you may still be able to fold the wonton in two making a triangle, and sealing the edges with water. Bring the points of the wrapper together. You may bake or deep fry these. If deep frying, fry in a deep fryer until a golden brown. If baking, also cook at 400F until you see a golden color. Serve with duck sauce.

Not precisely what I was expecting. The onion flavor pretty much drowned out everything else. I'd say half a bunch would be sufficient, maybe less. I'd also recommend deep-frying. I didn't get very good results with the baking method.

Great! Wonton wraps were a bit too small, and this recipe makes a LOT! We baked them, but I suggest frying them.

Labor intensive & needs some sugar & garlic salt. Still pretty delicious.

I've made these about 7 to 8 times for family gatherings like birthdays and Christmas and even though my girlfriend and i prepped over 120 last time we made them, there still weren't enough to go around. Great Recipe! Note: A deep fryer helps a lot if you have access to one.

I can tell that it is a good recipe, I just wished zi had a deep fryer to fry them.. I baked them, but for some reason, my cream cheese filling did not yield the creamy results like the restaurant. But it was still pretty good.

This was great! I also left out the water chestnuts. I had a really hard time finding won ton wrappers and duck sauce for some reason...

This is how i always make my crab rangoon, minus the water chesnuts. Always a hit with friends and family. one suggestion would be to use a disposable icing bag or cut a hole in the corner of a baggie and squeeze out your mixture for easier filling! Great recipe!
