This moist and flavorful pumpkin bread is perfect for the holidays.

"This recipe was excellent! I followed almost to a "T" but added a dash of allspice in there for good measure. I managed to get 9 muffins and a behemoth loaf out of the recipe. Since my loaf pan was larger than I thought it was, it had to bake longer than the stated directions. But I was just patient and kept testing via toothpick for doneness.

Overall, they are super moist and I have received only compliments so far from my taste-testers."

3 1/3 cups Flour
4 teaspoons Cinnamon
2 teaspoons Baking soda
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
2 2/3 cups Sugar
2/3 cup Vegetable Oil
4 Eggs
1 15-oz can Pumpkin
2/3 cup Water
0.5 cup Pecans; chopped (optional)

Original recipe makes 12



Sift dry ingredients together. Beat sugar and vegetable oil together until blended (mixture will still look dry). Add eggs, 1 at a time, until blended. Add pumpkin and mix thoroughly. Add dry ingredients a little at a time, alternating with water. Mix in pecans Pour batter into 2 9x5x3 loaf pans. Sprinke tops of loaves with cinnamon sugar before baking.

Bake at 325 for 55-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool for 15 minutes before removing from pans.

Wonderful recipe, very flavorful and not a bit dry, though I also added some more spices in the mix because I just couldn't help myself. I also substituted some applesauce just in case and it came out perfectly. Definitely making another loaf tomorrow!

Great recipe! I added 1tsp of vanilla. I didn't want to use the vegetable oil, but I didn't have apple sauce at hand to replace the oil, so instead I used my sons Gerber Sweet potato, apple sauce and cinnamon, and it came out delicious!!!

We used sweetened organic applesauce instead of oil and reduced the sugar to 2 cups. Of course, we added chocolate chips!!! Delicious! Really good for after school snacks and lunch boxes.

Yum! Everyone loves this and it's great for gifting. I use smaller loaf pans and it makes 3 (see pic with 3 loaves). With smaller loaves bake time is 40 min.

Very good & moist. I used brown sugar as well as regular sugar. I also substituted applesauce for some of the oil & added pumpkin spice.

Oh my, what a delish bread. Could help but eat half a loaf in one sitting! Added some nutmeg and clove for extra spice, subbed applesauce for the oil. Very moist, quite flavorful. Enjoy!

Soo good! The only thing different that I did was add a teaspoon of vanilla.
