Servings
Original recipe makes 8
1 Egg
1 1/2 lbLean Ground beef
8 ozItalian sausage; mild or hot, bulk or remove casings
1 cupBread crumbs
1 tspItalian seasoning
1 can (8 oz)Tomato sauce
1 cupOnion; finely chopped
1/2 cupGreen pepper; chopped
1 26-oz jarSpaghetti Sauce
Mozzerella cheese; to taste

Italian Meatballs Sandwiches Preparation

Beat egg lightly in large bowl. Add beef, sausage, bread crumbs, cup tomato sauce, onion and bell pepper: mix well.

Form into one inch meat balls and place in 9 x 13 in baking pan. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. I drain them on paper towels to reduce the fat content and add to heated spaghetti sauce. Serve hot on your choice of buns with mozzerella cheese. I use a double batch of (Italian Herb Bread) recipe found at this site and shape into 8 buns. Enjoy!

This was really good! I substituted the beef with turkey, no sausage or green pepper, and added fresh chopped garlic.

Just made this for lunch and it was absolutely amazing! We like our sandwiches sloppy so I added the left over tomato sauce to the spaghetti sauce. So good! Thanks for posting:-)
