Virginia's Candied Yams

Simple and quick version of the old fashioned candied yams.

"This recipe has become a tradition in my house. My entire family loves it, including my picky teenage sons. My brother-in-law called to see if I'm making it for Thanksgiving again! If it was remembered for an entire year, it has to be something special. It cooks well in the crockpot also, when your oven is occupied with a turkey. I'd give this one 10 stars! " - persianfoodlvr

I don't like sweet potatoes and still don't even after this recipe. I will however say that I made this for my guests at Thanksgiving and they simply loved it! Will makevthis again for sure!

This was such a big hit at Thanksgiving that it's on the menu for Christmas dinner! Easy and delicious.

I just made this. Instead of putting the dry ingredients on top I mixed it into the potatoes. I also used a smaller dish and allspice. Then I topped it with mini-marshmellows. Everyone loved it! However I would decrease the sugar because of the marshmellows.
