German Chocolate Pie

Recipes »  Desserts  »  Pies

This was an easy pie to make and nice to freeze. Nice choice for something different and we enjoyed it with vanilla ice cream. Texture similar to pecan pie.

"This pie is excellent. I made one big deepdish pie. I may cut down on the sugar next time but will definetely be cooking this one again, very soon! My entire family loved it!
I left the coconut out because my husband doesn't like it and it is good as well. I increased the pecans alittle." - willowtannah

My family loves pecan pie and I was looking for a good alternative for Thanksgiving. It went over so well, I made several during the holidays.

I made half the recipe using 2 cups of loosely packed coconut and a 5 oz. can of evaporated milk. I may add a bit more coconut next time.
